Alabama Baptist Churches

We need the help of Baptists in Alabama who would volunteer their time and computers to work at home, there in Alabama, helping us process our manuscripts. We are working on the project of getting the 25 years of International Publications Services material on computer.

We are Jim & Brenda Brock. We have been serving as missionaries with the International Mission Board (FMB) of the SBC for 25 years. Our office is currently in Johannesburg, South Africa. Our home church is Calvary Baptist located near Warrior, Alabama.

We need to construct a “Cross-Reference Guide” to make it easier for missionaries to find the material they are looking for. This will be similar to a computerized ‘Card Catalog’ for our books. We need people to read and decide on the major themes and scripture references in each book and chapter. There is no other way to do this project.

We also need people to read each book and write a short summary of each of our books. As we are expanding our services to all your missionaries throughout the world, we are discovering that we need to provide short summaries of 250 words or less.

So if you can read and write a short summary of a book, we can use your help.
Or, if you can read a simple book and write the most important ideas taught in a chapter, we can use your help.

This would be an E-mail based project. No passports because no one will travel. No shots and you can even drink the water. We will E-mail documents directly to the volunteers. They will work on them and return them to us by E-mail. It is an opportunity for Alabama Baptists, who would never be able to travel, to make a personal contribution to the work of their missionaries serving here in Southern Africa and the rest of the world.

International Publication Services is a service owned and operated by the Southern Africa Region of the IMB. Our purpose is to provide basic Christian teaching and training manuscripts to the missionaries in this region.
