Jim and Brenda

Jim Brock Jim & Brenda, who make their home in Alabama, have served 20 years with the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Their first assignment was Mozambique where they opened that country to FMB missionary work. They were in Lesotho for two years to work with the Basotho people of the Maluti mountains. Presently, the Regional Office of the IMB has asked them to leave Lesotho and to move to Johannesburg, South Africa to do a Special IPS Literature Computerization Project for the benefit of all the missionaries and work in the Southern Africa Region. Through IPS, Jim & Brenda provide Christian Teaching materials to missionaries throughout the world

Even before their marriage Jim and Brenda each had a rich history of missionary service.

Jim served with the FMB as a missionary in the Journeyman program in Moshi, Tanzania in 1976-78. While studying Psychology at Arkansas State University he served with the Baptist Student Union Summer Missions program for three years in Israel, Oregon and Arkansas.


Brenda Brock Brenda also served with the FMB in the Journeymen program as a teacher in Nairobi, Kenya in 1973-75. During her Business Education studies at the University of Montevallo in Alabama she served in Baldwin County and Sand Mountain, Alabama through the Baptist Student Union Summer Missions program.

Jim and Brenda are both graduates of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to their appointment with the Foreign Mission Board, they pastored Calvary Baptist Church in Warrior, Alabama.
