The Elephant
Elephants are over 9 feet
tall. They weigh up to
13,200 pounds.
A new born baby
weighs about 250-275 pounds
and is 3 feet tall. That is 43 times the weight of the
average human baby.
When walking they travel about 5 to 8 miles per hour.
If they are chasing you, they run at 25 to 35 miles per hour. Next time you
are in the car, ask the driver to drive 30 miles per hour. Elephants don't
eat people but they can make people very flat.
The front foot is round(O) and the back foot is oval(0).
Elephants eat about 16 to 18 hours a day. They eat about 400 to 600 pounds
every day. They drink about 20 gallons at a time. That makes alot of Elephant
Poop. Because they don't chew their food very well, lots birds and bugs feed
off the seeds, and fruit in elephant poop.
