The Next Paige

Paige on her 16th Birthday
Hey guys,

Welcome to the Next Paige. One of the few places to find news on Paige Brock. Yes, that's me over in the corner, for those of you who don't know me.

I'm an MK(Missionary Kid). I'm originally from Warrior, Alabama, but I've lived overseas since I was 3 yrs old. I lived in Mozambique, Africa for most of my life. However my parents and I have also lived in Portugal, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Lesotho. I am now in vet school at the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, TN.

I graduated from Samford in May 2004. It was a great experience. I definitely stayed busy: I joined the Delta Zeta sorority and held several leadership positions. I was a Resident Assistant for freshmen one year and then for the DZ house for another two years. I also became the Chief Justice of the SGA. In that position, I was the head of the Student Judiciary Council which presides over judicial matters on campus. It was an enlightening experience. I guess some of the biggest news lately is that I am now married!!! Yes, I did say married! My husband is Matt Lee. We met while I was still at Samford and have been dating ever since. He is a wonderful guy who is currently working at Children’s Hospital in Knoxville as a Physician Assistant. And if you want to know more of the mushy details you will have to write me and ask!!

I am currently in vet school at UT. So no matter when you are reading this I am probably somewhere with my nose buried in a book… a really big book! It is definitely difficult, but I am doing my best. My hopes at the moment are to be able to work with zoo medicine or captive wildlife medicine. Unfortunately, it is a very difficult field to get a start into. I am trying hard, but it seems like it takes a job to get experience and it takes experience to get a job.

I believe strongly in the power of prayer and I have three prayer requests for you.

First, please pray that God will keep my parents safe as they continue to serve Him. They live in a very dangerous place, but as my dad always says “The safest place in the world is in the middle of God’s will.” Please pray for their continued safety.

Second, please pray for my relationship with Matt. Help us as we grow together with each other and God both before and after the wedding.

And thirdly, please pray for opportunities to open in the veterinary zoo world. It is so hard to get a start in this field. Please pray that someone will give me a chance. And if you know anyone in this field that would be willing to give me an opportunity, please do not hesitate to drop me a line.
May God continue to bless you. apbrock@mail.ag.utk.edu
